30 Momme Silk Pillowcases: The Heaviest Weight in SilkLuxe
SilkLuxe-30 collects our 30 momme mulberry silk pillowcases, the heaviest fabric weight in the SilkLuxe line. You can choose a single pillowcase or a set of two, with an envelope closure or a hidden zipper, in sizes from toddler to king. If you already know you like silk on your pillow and want a denser, more substantial feel, start with this weight.
What 30 Momme Means for a Pillowcase
Momme measures silk fabric weight. Our FAQ defines it as the weight in pounds of a piece of silk 100 yards long and 45 inches wide, so a higher number means more silk in the same amount of fabric. A 30 momme pillowcase has a fuller hand and a deeper sheen than lighter weights, and it feels like substantial bedding rather than a thin layer. Like other silk, it has a smooth surface that glides under your cheek and hair as you turn during the night.
The extra weight comes down to personal taste. Some people love the cushioned, weighty feel, while others prefer a lighter, more fluid case. If you are deciding, compare these with our 22 momme silk pillowcases, a lighter weight in the same line, or with the lightest 19 momme silk range.
What Each Listing Tells You
The product name and option menus show how the six pillowcases here differ.
- Product name — Names that start with "2Pcs" are bundles priced for two pillowcases, and the other listings are priced for one. The name also says whether the case has an envelope closure or a hidden zipper.
- Size — Every listing offers Toddler, Standard, Queen and King, with the measurements written into the option itself.
- Color — The four listings with 30Momme in the name share the same nine colors: white, ivory, pink, gray, dark gray, dark blue, dark green, black and wine.
- Momme — Two listings have a Momme menu with 19, 22 and 30 momme. Select 30Momme there, then check that the color you want is still offered.
Envelope Closure or Hidden Zipper
An envelope closure has no hardware. The pillow tucks into an inner flap, which makes the case quick to change and simple to wash. A hidden zipper sits along the edge and closes the opening completely, which some sleepers prefer if their pillow tends to work its way out. Both give a clean look on the bed, so choose by how often you change cases and how much you move at night.
Pillowcase Size Specifications
Measure the pillow itself rather than the case you are replacing, because an old case may have stretched or shrunk. A snug case should not compress the pillow, and if your pillow falls between two sizes, the larger one usually looks smoother. The size chart on each listing gives these measurements:
- Toddler 13" x 18" (33 x 46 cm)
- Standard 20" x 26" (51 x 66 cm)
- Queen 20" x 30" (50 x 75 cm)
- King 20" x 36" (50 x 90 cm)
One Pillowcase or a Set of Two
A set of two in matching color makes it easy to dress both pillows at once or to rotate them while one is being washed. If you only want to try 30 momme on your own side of the bed, a single case is enough. The 30 momme bundles come in the same nine colors and four sizes as the single 30 momme cases, so a pair bought later can be ordered in the same color name. To compare pairs across weights, see our 2-piece pillowcase bundles.
Caring for a Heavier Silk Pillowcase
A heavier case still washes the gentle way: by hand, in cool water no warmer than 35°C (95°F), with a silk detergent, pressing rather than rubbing or twisting. Rinse well, press out the water without wringing, and hang it inside out in the shade, away from the dryer and direct sun. A heavier case holds more water, so give it extra time to dry fully before it goes back on the pillow. If you iron, turn the case inside out, use the lowest heat with a pressing cloth on top, and iron while the silk is still slightly damp.
